Truth Over Profit

Independent Health Truth Initiative

Research Without Agenda - Bringing you health truth without corporate influence

Our Story

Founded by Researchers Who Couldn't Stay Silent

In 2018, Dr. Roberto Martinez was working as a senior toxicologist at a major pharmaceutical company when he discovered concerning data about common food additives. When he tried to publish his findings, he was told the research "wasn't ready" and was eventually pushed out of his position.

Through professional networks, Dr. Martinez connected with five other researchers who had similar experiences of corporate interference with their scientific work:

Dr. Sarah Chen

Sought greater independence in environmental health research direction

Prof. Michael Rodriguez

Desired more flexibility in setting research priorities and methodology

Dr. Emily Thompson

Wanted to pursue pediatric health research more comprehensively

Dr. James Wilson

Sought independence from administrative constraints on research

Dr. Lisa Park

Wanted to pursue independent pediatric safety research

Dr. Roberto Martinez

Sought independence to pursue comprehensive toxicology research

In 2019, we decided to start IHTI - a completely independent research initiative. We left comfortable, well-paying positions because we couldn't stay silent about what we were finding in our research.

"This isn't about attacking anyone or any company - it's about giving families the information they deserve to make informed decisions about their health."

— Dr. Roberto Martinez, IHTI Founder

Core Values

Truth Over Profit

We prioritize scientific truth and research integrity. Our independent funding model allows us to follow the evidence wherever it leads.

People First

Our research focuses on questions that matter to real families and communities, with practical applications for everyday health decisions.

Transparency

All funding sources are publicly listed. All research protocols are available. We maintain complete transparency in our research methods and findings.

Independence

Our independence allows us to investigate important questions that may be overlooked by larger organizations with different priorities.

How IHTI Works

Financial Independence

Self-funded research initiative with no corporate financial ties. Strict policy against industry funding or influence.

Research Approach

Community-driven research questions from real public concerns. Small but focused with limited resources.

Operations

Shared lab space at University of Colorado facilities. Home offices and volunteer support to minimize costs.

Current Research Focus Areas

Food Safety & Additive Research

Long-term health impacts of synthetic food processing chemicals, preservatives, and artificial additives that families encounter daily.

Environmental Toxicology

Chemical exposures in home and workplace environments, focusing on realistic exposure levels rather than theoretical scenarios.

Consumer Product Analysis

Hidden health risks in everyday household products that families use without knowing the potential long-term consequences.

Pediatric Environmental Health

Special vulnerability of children to environmental toxins and how exposures during development can affect lifelong health outcomes.

Example Current Studies

  • The Apple Wax Health Impact Study: 18-month investigation into synthetic coating compounds
  • Household Chemical Exposure Assessment: Multi-family study of daily chemical exposure
  • Children's Environmental Health Monitoring: Tracking chemical sensitivity in pediatric populations
  • Food Processing and Metabolic Health: Population study of processed food consumption patterns
